Dhire, The Chief Laboratory Scientist, Mr J. Hwande

The Chief Radiographer, Mrs Y. Chivasa, The HOD for the A&E Department, Dr Schlaak, The Principal Human Resources Officer, Mr D. Kandemiri and the Registrar for the Medical and Den-tal Practitioners Council of Zimba-bwe, Mrs J. Mwakutuya.

The orientation was meant to equip the participants with the knowledge of the interdependent departments within the Group of Hospitals and how they can access essential ser-vices within this sophisticated in-stitution.

The Clinical Director, Mr Madzi-va shared the duties and expected standards of professional conduct for the JRMOs. He also prom-ised the JRMOs to support them throughout their period of intern-ship and encouraged them to come to his office if they required any as-sistance. He further explained why Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals was the only tertiary health institu-tion in the country.

Mrs Mwatukuya, who is the Reg-istrar for the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council, took the participants through the process of registration and licencing. She em-phasised on ethical conduct by the Doctors and illustrated the conse-quences of indiscipline.

The workshop was well appreciat-ed by the Junior Resident Medical Officers who felt honoured by the presence of the Clinical Director, the Registrar for the MDPCZ and various members of the Hospital Management. It was noteworthy that, all the presenters told the JR-MOs that their offices were open to them if they needed any kind of support.
